Abuhav Winery was founded in 2009 among the magical alleys of Old Safed, in the heart of the Kabbalistic Quarter, inside a historic 16th century building. Today, the winery's original building serves as a visitor center for tourists from Israel and around the world.
The wine production is not at the visitors center but in a separate building located in the village of Shamai.
Abuhav Winery produces approximately 30,000 bottles per year, with the majority being exported to customers around the world.
The fine wines from Mehadrin are made by God-fearing Jews and are produced while maintaining the sanctity of the wine, from the grape harvest to the filling of the bottles.
The grapes are hand-harvested, fermented, and then aged for about 18 months in French oak barrels. This traditional production process adds depth and complexity to the aromas and flavors of the wines.

wine tasting

In Old Safed, in an ancient 600-year-old building with a spectacular view of the Meron Mountains, the winery shop is located and offers its visitors wine tastings combined with local cheeses. The combination of breathtaking views along with intoxicating wine aromas, relaxing music, the taste of boutique cheeses and a sip of fine wine, make every visit an exciting and unforgettable experience. Wine Tasting - 3 Types of Wine - 60 NIS per person

Private chef at Abuhav Winery

Inside our magical building, we offer our guests a luxurious meat meal with a private chef. Minimum 15 guests by prior arrangement. Price per diner - 450 NIS excluding VAT.

Ancient wine cellar

Descend into a 600-year-old wine cellar. The tour is independent and you can get an impression of aging wines as well as ancient tools found while the building was being restored.

Advanced wine workshop

An advanced workshop to learn about the world of wine - the workshop lasts about four hours. We will learn about winemaking and tour the 600-year-old wine cellar - the workshop is conducted in English or Spanish.

Historical lecture on the origins of wine, the essence of wine in Judaism, wine in the Land of Israel from the time of the First Temple to the present day. - The lecture is approximately two hours long - The lecture is given in English or Spanish.

Amazing!!! The Abouhav winery is amazing, the owner and workers are very professional, knowledgable, friendly, and fluent in English. The wine and atmosphere were amazing. There is a beautiful spot to sit outside where you can drink your tasters and enjoy the view of mount meron and the valley. Looking forward to my next visit and hope others go and enjoy as much as I did.

The wine in this place is off the chart. I totally recommend it the owner and the workers where very nice. The wine tasting, are having a really top of the line selection and you can drink it with a beautiful scenery

Exceeds expectations While climbing from the underground tunnels in Safed old town we ran into this place. We were greeted so nice that we decided to make an unplanned stop there. They have uncovered an underground tunnel that become the wine cellar (worth a look). The wine fermentation is unique and done in wooden barrels and not in large stainless steel tanks, which adds to the wine taste. They opened a new bottle for us, WOW

ביקרנו ביקב מופלא, עם מערות בנות מאות שנים לשמירה על בקבוקי יין. היין נהדר, הנוף קסום, והחוויה מדהימה! מומלץ לזוגות. We visited a wonderful winery, with centuries-old caves for wine bottles. The wine is great, the scenery is magical, and the experience is amazing! Recommended for couples.
