The Abouhav Winery is nestled among the quaint Old City lanes of  Safed, in the heart of the Kabbalist Quarter, in an historic 16th century structure.
It is a boutique kosher winery, producing about 25,000 bottles a year. Most bottles are exported to priveate clients around the world or sold at the winery. The wine is made in an old traditional unique method.
The grapes are cultivated by hand, fermented and then aged for 18 months in oak barrels.
This traditional method adds depth and complexity to the aroma and palate of this remarkable wine. Lechaim!
The Abouhav winery has 3  vineyards planted in the Galil .
Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, and Petit Verdot grapes are grown in the vineyards. These strains of grapes benefit from ideal growing conditions for cultivating grape wine. The unique climate is characterized by the cool Galilean air. It is very cold with even snowfall in the winter, while sundrenched but pleasant in the summer.
The soil is rich terra rossa, and was previously used as the planting fields of an apple orchard.
The bio-dynamic growing method of the vineyard succeeds in contributing vastly to its improved vitality .
The careful and meticulous cultivation of the vineyard brings forth the extraordinary quality of its grapes, rich in taste and flavor
